Internships

·         AIESEC-USA

AIESEC (from the French acronym for the International Association of Students in Economics and Business Management) is an international student-run organization which offers approximately 5,000 paid internships each year in business and other fields over 80 countries. Site has links to chapters worldwide. Note that application for AIESEC internships is possible only through campus chapters.

Nonprofit organization provides paid internships in over 80 countries in engineering and science (apply by late Dec.), and in tourism and hospitality management. They can also assist in obtaining work permits for career-related practical training in most fields for both students and college graduates.

International internships, teaching, and volunteer programs in Europe and Asia.

·         American Scandinavian Foundations

Web site lists both study and work programs. Nonprofit organization offers paid internships in Scandinavia in engineering, teaching English as a foreign language, business, agricultural fields. Apply for internships by late Dec. Fee $50. ASF also assists with obtaining work permits for Scandinavia.

·         CDS International

Offers a variety of work/ study, internship, and study tour programs abroad.

·         Center for Interim Programs

For a fee, offers educational, internship, and volunteer opportunities available in a wide range of fields in most countries, many provide room and board.

·         ENYA: Internship and Volunteer Programmes

Programs, internships and training opportunities throughout the world.

·         French-American Chamber of Commerce

Offers  3-18 month business internship positions.  Must have completed 2 years of college and have a working knowledge of the French language.

·         French Embassy

Offers one month to one year internship positions in public and private sectors in France.  Candidates must be enrolled in an American college or have finished less than 2 years ago.  Also offers 6-9month teaching assistantships teaching English in France in primary schools.  Candidates must be between 20 and 34 years old.

·         Global Vision International

·         International Cooperative Education Program

Organization offers paid summer internships for students with knowledge of foreign languages (German, French, Italian, Chinese, Japanese) in Europe and Asia. U.S. or Canadian citizens preferred. Apply by February. Fee of $950.

·         International Exchange for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience (IAESTE)

(919) 832-1575, www.iaeste.org/  For a fee, offers 6 week to 6 month, unpaid business internships for undergraduates and graduate students. Practical training opportunities are geared toward those interested in the Engineering, the Natural Sciences and other related areas.

International Internships LLC provides overseas internship placements in 10 countries around the globe for American and international students including Argentina, Australia, Brazil, China, France, Germany, Ireland, London and New Zealand.

·         International Rescue Committee

A non-sectarian, voluntary organization providing relief, protection, and resettlement services for refugees and victims of oppression/violent conflict. Employment opportunities are listed for all over the world in all job areas.

·         Intrax Intern Abroad

A professional career development and leadership program focused on providing students with practical work experience and global skills training in major economic centers overseas: London , Paris , Barcelona , Madrid , Tokyo , and Costa Rica . Looking ahead to a challenging job market, international work experience can give participants an edge.

·         Mountbatten Internship Program

Places Americans in internships within Britain in exchange for British student placement with a company in America. Must be 21 years old, a college graduate and U.S. Citizen to be eligible.   All positions are for a 12-month commitment.

·         Transitions Abroad

Information on volunteer, internship, and short-term opportunities.

·         U.S. Department of State

Positions available for undergraduate and graduate students in American foreign affairs overseas and in Washington D.C.  Most are unpaid.  Summer, Fall and Spring deadline.  Particular interest in foreign policy, diplomacy is recommended.  Opportunities are varied within 170 different countries.
