Language of Instruction
Most courses at the University of Verona are taught in Italian. Students wishing to attend courses in the field of Humanities are recommended to attach a B1 level of Italian Language Compentence certificate (or equivalent) as part of their application. Students wishing to attend courses in the field of Economics are encouraged to contact the Erasmus Tutoring Service at email@example.com to checkk the different language reuirements according to level of study and the language used in class (Italian or English)

Italian Courses are also available and are organized each semester at the Language Centre (CLA) to help students improe their language competence and develop their intercultural skills in order to get used to the Italian academic context.
The Academic year starts on October 1st and ends on September 30th. The first semester runs from September/October to the beginning January and the second semester from the end of February to the end of May. Assessments take place during the summer (June-July) or winter (December - February) sessions, but also in autumn (September), depending on the field of study.
Accommodations and Meals
Italian Universities generally do not have a campus. International students can find an accommodation in Verona in the student residences or in private flats to be shared with other students.

Every year a number of rooms are reserved to international exchange students (i.e. Erasmus students), who will receive the accommodation form after the submission of their application form (i.e. Erasmus students). International students can ask for information and support to the I.S.U. to find an accommodation in Verona in private flats to be shared with other students.
Two University Canteens are available in Verona, both run by ESU Verona. International exchange students may be granted access to the University canteens with their ESU Card, which provides two meals a day (lunch and dinner)
Through the exchange agreement, Montclair State students who are accepted to study at University of Verona will pay Montclair State tuition and fees to MSU directly while attending the program at University of Verona. Additional costs to the student include room, board, insurance, airfare and other transportation, and incidentals. Students will also pay the study abroad administrative fee of $400. The recommended pre-session Intensive Italian Language Course may be an additional charge. In most cases, students may use their financial aid. Some additional fees may apply.
Living Costs in Verona
Living in Verona will cost approximately 700-800 Euro per month. This amount will cover basic living costs such as accommodation, food, books, public transport). See further details in the International Student Guide linked above.
Application Process: Montclair State students must meet with the Study Abroad Advisor and complete the study abroad application process. Students are then nominated to Verona and accepted students will then receive the Applcation form directly from University of Verona.
