This program allows Montclair State University students the opportunity to take courses in English and Spanish with international students at a Spanish university campus while being integrated into Spanish culture.  Language and culture courses are taught in Spanish and are designed primarily for students at the beginner and intermediate level of Spanish language ability.  Options are also available for advanced speakers.  Other content courses in disciplines such as business, history, art and European Studies are taught in English.  This program is available in the Fall and Spring semester.  The semester study is preceded by a four-week intensive Spanish language and culture pre-session program.
   

Four week intensive Spanish language and culture course is available in the pre-session before each semester.  During the regular semester, students take four semester courses, at least one of which must be taught in Spanish.  Courses available for Academic Year 2010-2011 include:
Students select two or three Spanish language and culture courses offered at various levels of proficiency.  Students then select two or three specialized courses taught in English.  Choices for students include:

Accommodations and Meals

The University offers students accommodation with Spanish families, at university residence halls or student residences with single rooms when available.

If you opt for living with a Spanish family, you may chose half or full board. Full board includes three meals a day: breakfast, lunch and supper. Half board includes two meals: breakfast and either lunch or supper. Spanish breakfast is light fare; the main meal in Spain is lunch.

The University only guarantees accommodation during your study programme period. To request accommodation, you must cover one month's fees. Once this fee is received, the University will send you specific information regarding the family or residence where you will live.

It is compulsory for the student requesting accommodation to inform about any special dietary requirements, illnesses, allergies, etc. regarding meals, upon applying.

 

The cost of the Spanish Plus Program varies depending on program type and semester. Please click here for a list of current fees.These fees include the following at Nebrija:
  • All tuition and fees
  • Orientation 
  • Three academic workshops
  • Administrative services
  • Transcript
  • Nine instructor-guided activities
  • Two Saturday excursions
  • A Farewell Dinner

Housing costs are additional. Loding includes half board (approximately $1,015) or full board (approximately $1,192).
Other fees may include transportation, health insurance, visa fees, study abroad fee, additional cultural activities.
Tuition is paid by the student directly to Nebrija University.

Language
Spanish language and culture courses are taught in Spanish at the beginner, low intermediate and intermediate levels.  Advanced language speakers may also find classes at their level.  Students take placement tests to determine appropriate level of instruction.  A limited number of courses are available in English as well.
