The goal of this course is to extend students’ understanding of current professional theater scenes through exposure to a wide range of theatrical genres in London, a mecca for world-class theatre. Students attend seven productions and meet with actors, directors, playwrights, designers, and stage managers to discuss their work. They experience the professional production process in a variety of theatrical venues. The class meets several times on Sundays during the semester to discuss plays and prepare for the London trip. While in London the students will attend productions and participate in workshops, discussions, and backstage tours.
